† 2017–2022 values of the all-land series (sale and rent) are not comparable with earlier or later years because of a change in the official methodology; the arable and pasture series have no such break. * The source repeats the previous year's rent figures for this year, so it is not shown as a new value. A negative arable-vs-pasture figure means meadows and pastures sold for more on average that year, usually because of few or atypical transactions. "–" = too few transactions for a published average.
Land prices by municipality (2024)
Ranked by average sale price of all agricultural land. Open a municipality for its full price history and arable-versus-pasture comparison. "–" means too few transactions for a published average.
Methodology and data notes
- Source: land market statistics of the Agricultural Data Centre (ŽŪDC, Žemės ūkio duomenų centras), compiled from Centre of Registers transaction records and published on the Official Statistics Portal of Statistics Lithuania (indicators S9R196 for sale prices and S9R197 for rents).
- Prices are annual averages of completed transactions in euros per hectare of agricultural land - not asking prices from listings. Rents are euros per hectare per year from registered lease transactions; ŽŪDC notes that declared transaction amounts can differ from amounts actually paid.
- Where a municipality had too few transactions in a year, the statistics producer does not publish the value (confidentiality). We show those cells as missing and never estimate them.
- The "all agricultural land" series has a methodology break: 2017–2022 values sit well below the arable series and the national average jumps in 2023. Compare long-run growth with the arable-land series, which is continuous since 2011.
- 2023 rents in the source repeat the 2022 figures for every territory, so 2023 is not presented as a new rent observation.
- In individual municipalities a few atypical deals (for example, leases for wind farms) can move the average noticeably. Land prices are historical statistics; we do not forecast them.
